Points East captures the essence of New York surf and maritime culture and beyond. Hand crafted on the South Shore of Long Island, one item at a time, using sustainably and ethically sourced materials and environmentally friendly water based inks. No two items are alike. Points East was founded with a desire to create a more authentic product, drawing inspiration from the sea, surf, & the place that we call home.

Our commitment to the environment goes beyond the inks we use. We are proud to use EcoEnclose for a majority of our shipping needs, and reuse as much packaging as we can to ship bulkier and bigger items. Is it always pretty? No, but every little bit helps.

Our info cards and hang tags are made by GreenerPrinter, using post consumer stocks and soy and algae based inks.

We use American grown, cut and made apparel, cutting down on excessive shipping and returning our profits back to the community.

process

Screen printing is a labor intensive process, but is a labor of love for us. What once started as a fun project in high school turned into an addiction in college and beyond. Starting with a home made press made from scrap plywood, we churned the first Points East products out on a dusty workbench in my parents’ basement. Things have changed a bit since then, but the process remains the same. We still have some hand-built equipment that is still serving us since day 1.

care instructions

Your apparel is a hand made piece of art and should be worn proudly. When it comes time to wash it, it is recommended you turn it inside out so that any decoration is on the inside. Cold water is also recommended to cut down on any shrinkage. The water based inks may fade over time, but it becomes part of the piece, giving a beautiful vintage patina. Enjoy!
